The theme of _List Vol. 20 is “Korean Science Fiction.” Under the four subthemes “Chronicling Korean Science Fiction,” “Postcoloniality and Imagining the Post-Human,” “Descartes’s Descendants: the Novels of Bae Myung-hoon and Kim Bo-young,” and “Children’s Science Fiction,” this issue introduces the topics and the status of Korean science fiction. In addition, this issue features interviews with literary critic Kim Uchang and writer Choi Suchol, Korean publishing trends, coverage of the acceptance of Korean literature overseas, a spotlight on a literary site, book reviews of fiction/nonfiction/children’s literature, and the translation of Pyun Hye-young’s short story “Bodies” (from Aoi Garden, 2005) and introduces steady sellers, publishers, and trends in Korean literature to overseas readers.
