This anthology compiles 10 works of modern Korean fiction, including “Geumsuhoeuirok” (금수회의록 Minutes of the Meeting of Animals) by Ahn Gukseon (1878-1926). The word “fantasy” in the title is a concept not entirely unrelated to politics, and the explanatory notes toward the end of the book highlights that the word “fantasy” describes stories that made use of metaphors at a time when it was difficult to directly express political opinions.

안국선(1878~1926)의 「금수회의록」을 비롯하여 한국 현대소설 10편을 수록하였다. 표제어에 제시된 '환상'이라는 것은 정치와 무관하지 않은 개념으로, 직접적인 정치적 발언이 어려운 상황에서 '비유'의 형태를 빌린 것을 가리킨다는 점이 권말의 해설에 제시되어 있다.
