This is the Inkstone Essay “Gungwol: The Korean Palaces” featured in KLN Vol. 55. Professor Jung Byung-Sul focuses on the literary characteristics of Korean palaces and introduces three works of literature that are based on actual events that took place within the palace walls-- Gyechuk ilgi (Diary of the year Gyechuk), Inhyeon wanghu jeon (Tales of Queen Inhyeon), and Hanjungnok (The Memoirs of Lady Hyegyong).

KLN 55호 고전특집 에세이<궁궐>이다. 정병설 교수는 궁궐이라는 공간이 가진 문학적 특성에 주목하여 궁궐 내에서 벌어진 실제 사건을 핵심으로 쓰여진 세 작품 『계축일기』,『인현왕후전』,『한중록』을 소개한다.
