The theme of KLN Vol. 46 is Cats and Dogs in Korean Literature. Throughout the history of mankind, not to mention the history of arts and literature, animals have been a constant presence. The task of examining the significance of animals in Korean arts and literature—especially cats and dogs accompanying men in everyday life—has an important humanistic value. This issue explores depictions of cats and dogs in Korean literature.
