    Kim Sowol et al / 김소월 et al / 1998 / -

Powerfully inventive poems of love in contemporary life by Chong Hyon-jong, one of the most respected poets writing in Korea. The novelty of his poetic language with its narrative lyricism and provacative philosophy makes it impossible to classify Chong's poetry, and yet it is a holder of tradition which embodies the laws of life as seen by gifted poets in the zen poetic tradition of Korea. Chong Hyon-jong exposes contemporary reality, like a prophet, with profound insight. https://www.abebooks.com/9781885445544/Day-Shine-Poems-Cornell-East-Asia-1885445547/plp

Poetry. Asian Studies. VOICES IN DIVERSITY: POETS FROM POSTWAR KOREA offers a selection of poems from 37 South Korean poets born in or after 1945, edited and translated by poet Ko Won. The selected poets represent the voice of a nation emerging from Japanese rule; they are witnesses to sweeping political, social and cultural developments who have distilled their experience of a dynamic world into a precise and elegant poetics deeply concerned with modern political realities. Much as with the Middle East, these realities virtually demand a greater acquaintance with the arts and culture of this region, a knowledge which this collection certainly provides. Ko Won has published fourteen books of poetry, is a member of the P.E.N. Center USA West, and directs the Kulmaru Institute of Literature, Los Angeles. https://www.abebooks.com/9780893048853/Voices-Diversity-Poets-Postwar-Korea-0893048852/plp

    Choi Seung-ho et al / 최승호 et al / 2006 / -

This poetry anthology contains ninety poems by three prominent Korean ecopoets who write about the endangered environment and deplore its impact on nature and mankind. Seungho Choi¡¦s poetry is filled with explicit descriptions and pessimism that condemn the capitalist society and man¡¦s selfish desires, which, he believes, can ultimately ruin the ecosystem and mankind. Chiha Kim¡¦s somewhat-cynical poetry encourages the fulfillment of each creature¡¦s life through harmonious living among all living things. Hyonjong Chong¡¦s poetry, with the earth goddess Gaia in mind, writes about the bliss that could be found in living amicably with the ecosystem.   Source: http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-Shell-Ecopoets-Seungho-Hyonjong/dp/1931907404

    Chong Hyon-jong et al / 정현종 / 2008 / KDC구분 > literature > Korean Literature > Korean Poetry > 21st century poetry

The Dream of Things brings together about 80 poems by Hyonjong Chong that best illustrate his unusual poetic imagination and polished skill. In these poems, Chong demonstrates his persistent pursuit of the relationship between poet and object. It is through thoughtful meditation about language and meticulous precision in word choice that he relates this relationship. Chong often extends his metaphors through unique word play and the use of puns, which serves to dislocate readers from common perceptions and prejudices. He enjoys poetic experimentation in order to push conventional boundaries, which allows him to convey his profound meditation on the relationship between “man and man” and “man and things.”     Source: http://www.homabooks.com/general/books/east_asia/korea/1052.php

    Lee Seong-Bok / 이성복 / 2005 / KDC구분 > literature > Korean Literature > Korean Poetry > 20th century poetry > 1945-1999

Source: http://books.google.co.kr/books/about/Des_choses_qui_viennent_après_la_douleu.html?id=3HLCGAAACAAJ&redir_esc=y
