Almond is a profoundly moving narrative where a character's lack of human emotions produces intense emotions within its reader. It is one of the few books that have moved me to tears. The story centres around the transformative journey of Yunjae, a young man who navigates the challenges of a rare condition called Alexithymia. This makes it hard for him to feel and express emotions like fear, anger or joy.
