These sourcebooks were planned and produced to enhance the overall understanding of overseas Korean literature and to expand the territory of literary enjoyment. A total of 16 overseas Korean literature researchers focusing on the Americas, Japan, Russia-Central Asia, and China participated as writers, covering a wide range of topics from the formation process of overseas Korean literature to current status and prospects by region. The volume on Korean Literature in Japan contains the precious lives of Korean writers in Japan who have struggled to rebuild their lives in a new land in the fetters and frustration of modern and contemporary history.
