The Literature Translation Institute of Korea began to hold Korean Diaspora Literature Essay Contest in 2018 in an effort to advance the discourse on diaspora literature and to raise people’s recognition of diaspora literature. The theme of the first essay contest held in the first half of 2018 was “Literature of the Korean People that Embraces Differences and Diversity,” and participants were given a choice of 18 different works by overseas Korean writers to read and write their essay. The poster for the contest lists information, such as submission period, eligibility, how to apply, contest schedule, prizes, books for the contest, and their authors.
