Seul, en prison pendant la dictature, puis isolé parce que j'avais écrit contre les immolations par le feu, je me suis retrouvé confiné dans la pénombre de ma chambre, comme Hölderlin dans sa tour. Mais, un jour, quatre petites fleurs ont fini par éclore aux sources d'énergie de mon corps. Cette éclosion a été suivie par beaucoup d'autres. Serait-ce l'éclosion des mystiques taoïstes ? Un monde s'est alors dressé Triste, solennel, perçant Chaque fleur s'est ouverte dans le vide de l'espace Le vide, devenu silence, a effacé les mots. Le poème L'Éclosion a été composé quelques années avant que le silence apparaisse. Les poèmes sur Gaya ont été écrits un peu plus tard. Sans doute sont-ils nés d'une tension entre le mot et le silence. Ces poèmes ne se situent jamais sur une ligne directe qui irait du mot au mot, d'image en image, du sens au sens. C'est l'instant qui revient, infailliblement. Quelque chose comme l'anneau de Zhuang-Zi quand il évoque "l'illimité de l'anneau", ce moment poétique quasiment insaisissable. Je suppose que traduire ces poèmes en français n'a pas été une tâche facile. Je remercie tous ceux qui ont contribué à la réalisation de cet ouvrage dans la langue de poètes que j'aime et que j'admire. Un jour, je me rendrai à Paris avec le désir de voir la Seine. Non la Seine de Guillaume Apollinaire mais celle de Michel Serres ! Le fleuve du temps vivant, des contre-courants, des bouleversements !
