This is a short story by Lim Chulwoo, published in Hyundae Munhak (Contemporary Literature) in 1988. Lim has published works dealing with violence and madness caused by the division of the Korean Peninsula, and this short story is also a part of such works. Through an interrogation room called the “Red Room,” this short story dramatically depicts an individual's helplessness against the system.
