Plot

When his father dies, the narrator is discharged from his military service. After undergoing various events, he overcomes thoughts about suicide and accepts his relationship with the world. Unable to shake off anxiety, he searches for the meaning of life and the real world.

This is a series of short stories by Yi In-seong, published in 1983. Through subtle depictions of his thoughts and feelings, it depicts the protagonist’s search for the meaning of life after he is discharged from the military service due to his father’s death of his father.

1983년 출간된 이인성의 연작장편소설이다. 주인공이 부친의 죽음으로 의가사 제대를 한 후 삶의 의미를 얻는 과정을 내밀한 심리묘사로 그려내었다.
