“Todos los árboles son la encarnación de amores frustrados”, piensa Uhyon, fotógrafo que renuncia a todo y aspira a convertirse en árbol luego de sufrir un fatal accidente. El relato es un juego de espejos en el que atestiguamos el proceso de maduración de Khyon, su impulsivo hermano, que al disputarle la novia comete actos indignos. El padre, infeliz en apariencia, se refugia en el cuidado del jardín y en el juego de go. Finalmente, la familia se reencuentra al conocerse la historia de la enigmática madre.
