From October 9 to 14, LTI Korea participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany and exhibited 142 books in 17 languages, carefully selected ​​from the books published by foreign publishers with the Korean literature translation and publication grants. In this exhibition, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the Korean Literature Translation Institute co-hosted a special discussion forum for Korean literature, "Korea: Divided Country, Divided Literature?" This event, attracted the attention of the world media as a special program newly planned from this year in parallel with the “guest of honor” of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Novelists Lee Ho-cheol and Hwang Sok-yong participated in the special literary forum to present and discuss the reality of division of Korea and its divided literature. The event was mediated by Dr. Thomas Hocke, literary editor for ZDF, the German state-run broadcaster, and Ms. Helga Picht, the translator of Pak Kyongni Land, also participated in the discussion.
