Това е първата книга, която запознава българския читател с произведения на корейската литература, преведени на български от езика на оригинала. В нея са включени над сто стихотворения, които отразяват промените на естетическите нагласи в съвременната корейска поезия от началото на нашия век до днес. Представени са повече от 50 поети, родени до Освобождението на Корея през 1945. Сред тях изпъкват имената на най-известните корейски поети. Чхуе Нам-Сон е поетът, чиито стихотворения се считат за начало на съвременната корейска поезия. Той за първи път започва да използува теми и форми, които не се срещат в класическата поезия. Хан Йон-Ун търси истината за себе си и за положението на своята родина, потопен в будистката философия и лирика. Ким Со-Уол, вдъхновен от природата и фолклора, се изразява просто, прямо, завладяващо. Много от неговите стихотворения са се превърнали в едни от най-известните и любими песни в Корея. Юн Дон-Джу превръща своята съпротива в поезия, даваща глас на мъката по погубеното отечество. В нея има дързост, но няма злоба или призив за насилие. Со Джон-Джу използува скритите възможности на езика, от омайващия лиризъм до приземеността на разговорния дискурс. И Гуан-Су, Ким Ок, И Юк-Са, Пак Ту-Джин, И Сон-Сон... Някои са решени да станат гръмогласни свидетели на събитията от своето време. Други предпочитат да се вглъбят в миналото, да преоткриват традиционните ценности. Трети смело обогатяват творбите си под влиянието на западните тенденции. Една част от представените автори са не само големи поети, но и герои мъченици, които отдавна не са между живите. Друга част продължават да пишат и днес, влизайки в диалог с поети от най-младите поколения, родени след Освобождението, които са не по-малко интересни и със сигурност също заслужават внимание, което ще им бъде отдадено в един бъдещ проект. Имайки рядката възможност да се наслаждават на прекрасната корейска поезия в оригинал, преводачите подбираха и превеждаха в продължение на повече от две години тези стихотворения, за да споделят удоволствието си с българския читател. Con este volumen, ADONAIS, que ofreció hace poco Poesía danesa contemporánea (núm. 373-74), enfoca ahora su objetivo hacia Extremo Oriente, tan tocado por las singularidades, para extender en POESIA COREANA ACTUAL una muy cumplida y rigurosa muestra de la expresión de un patrimonio poético cuyo interés va siempre más allá de lo exótico. Esta antología nos transmite, a través de 31 autores vivos, una cosmovisión donde lo mágico se une a lo directo, pues toda la lírica de Corea no es sino la naturaleza misma trasplantada al plano de los sentimientos, o viceversa. Durante veinte siglos, se comprueba que sus creadores gozan de la vida natural y aciertan a convertirla en materia inseparable de su palabra, sin romper del todo con las ascendencias tradicionales, pese a los diversos rumbos emprendidos. Ciñéndonos a este siglo, es dado fijar distintas etapas de ese proceso. Entre 1894 y 1925, lo predominante fue la poesía simbolista-romántica. Al período 1925-1934 le caracteriza la mezcla de modos: desde la poesía pura al surrealismo. Hacia 1936 asomó un fondo humanitario y vital cuyas influencias proceden del renacentismo europeo. Arranca de 1950 el gusto por la estética vanguardista. En los años sesenta hubo un brote de poesía social, mientras que, en las últimas décadas, volvió a recobrarse totalmente el hilo de lo antiguo, aunque sin caer en la actitud conservadora a secas. Recoge este volumen obra de poetas encajados en una escala cronológica que abarca desde SO CHUNG IN, nacido en 1915, hasta YONG-TAE MIN, nacido en 1943. Este último es quien asume la espinosa y responsable faena de prologar, traducir y seleccionar un panorama lleno de sugestiones y muy escasamente divulgado entre nosotros. Su vinculación con España es una nota de acusado valor, que garantiza por entero la calidad de su trabajo.

Leidenschaft, Einsamkeit, Schmerz und Verzweiflung im Licht der Moralvorstellung der koreanischen Gesellschaft in den 1970er-Jahren lassen Shin sich selbst als einen hilflosen Vogel sehen, umgeben von Dunkelheit, Kälte und Sturm, der sich wünscht, eines Tages endlich hoch und weit frei fliegen zu können. In ihrer nachfolgenden Schöpfungsphase widmete sich Shin dem Schicksalhaften des Lebens. Im Alter von 35 Jahren wurde sie selbst als Frau eines plötzlich durch Schlaganfall querschnittsgelähmten Mannes und dreifache Mutter mit einem schweren Schicksalsschlag konfrontiert. In zahlreichen Gedichten, besonders in »Bodhisattva mit tausend Händen und tausend Augen«, hat sie ihr Schicksal und ihre Verzweifelung anschaulich beschrieben. Aber die charakterstarke Dichterin versuchte beharrlich, ohne in Depression oder Ressentiment zu versinken, einen Ausweg zu finden und das Schicksal zu überwinden. Die Kraft und die Weisheit zum Durchhalten schöpfte sie vor allem aus ihrem christlichen Glauben, aber auch aus der buddhistischen Lehre, die beispielsweise in den Leitsätzen wie »Alles Leben ist leidvoll« oder »Alles Seiende ist unzulänglich« wiederzufinden sind. In ihren späten Gedichten sind die Spuren ihrer ständigen Auseinandersetzungen verschwunden ? und die Dichterin widmet sich insbesondere dem Thema der Heilung und Versöhnung nach buddhistischer Einsicht. Mit großem Feingefühl schrieb sie zahlreiche Gedichte mit Motiven des »buddhistischen Geistes des Mitleids und der Barmherzigkeit«, der »Weisheiten« (prajna in Sanskrit), »der Idee der Leere« und »Nirwana«. Throughout the twentieth century, few countries in Asia suffered more from foreign occupation, civil war, and international military conflict than Korea.
