Kim Sakkat (1807-1863) was a poet from the late Joseon dynasty. “Kim Sakkat” was a nickname used by Kim Byeongyeon, who traveled across the country from the age of twenty and composed impromptu poetry. As many of his works mocked and parodied authority, he is sometimes known as the “people’s poet.” In 1939, Lee Eung-su collected Kim’s works into an anthology titled Gimnipsijip (김립Poetry collection Collection of Poems by Kim Rip).* Poetry collection Gimnipsijip (김립Poetry collection Collection of Poems by Kim Rip) (1939)
