Plot

Moai and Mot are quiet middle school students who have no presence at school, where they are bullied, beaten, and robbed of their money. They are always hoping for someone to kill them, or for a comet to destroy the planet. One day, their interest is piqued when they find a ping pong table in the middle of a field. Then something totally unexpected happens to them.

2006년에 출간된 박민규의 장편소설이다. 2005년 여름부터 2006년까지 계간지<창작과 비평>에 연재했던 작품을 대폭 수정하여 출간한 것이다. 작품은 왕따를 당하는 중학생들의 시선으로 부조리한 세계를 비판한다. 작가 특유의 경쾌한 상상력과 짜임새 있는 구성으로 이야기의 완결성을 높였다.

This novel by Park Min-gyu was published in 2006. It is an extensively revised version of the work that was serialized in the Changbi literary journal from the summer of 2005 to 2006. Through the eyes of middle school students who are being bullied at school, the author criticizes aspects of life he considers absurd. His unique, cheerful imagination and the novel’s well-considered structure bring to life this well-polished novel.
