2011년에 출간된 편혜영의 세 번째 단편소설집이다. 표제작인 <저녁의 구애>를 포함하여 8편의 단편소설이 수록되어 있다. 편리하고 안온한 현실 속에 숨어있는 불안과 고독, 황폐한 내면을 드러내는 순간을 집요하게 묘사한다. 동일한 일상을 끊임없이 반복하는 삶 속에서 문명이 인간을 소외시키는양상을 드러낸다.

Published in 2011, Evening Courtship is the third collection of short stories by Pyun Hye-young. The collection’s eight short stories, including the title story, single-mindedly depict the moments in which anxiety, loneliness, and devastating interiority, hidden within a seemingly convenient and peaceful reality, finally reveal themselves. The stories reveal those aspects of human civilization that alienate individuals, their lives an endless repetition of the same daily drudgery.
