1994년 출간된 오정희의 단편소설집이다. 표제작인 <옛우물>을 포함하여 11편의 단편소설이 수록되어 있다. 표제작인 <옛우물>은 한 가정의 아내이자 어머니인 여성이 일상 속에서 자신의 자아를 찾지 못해 괴로워하는 모습을 묘사하고 있다. 사회적으로 규정된 여성이 아닌, 본질적이고 근원적인 여성성을 찾으려는 작업에 몰두하고 있다.
