1994년 출간된 오정희의 단편소설집이다. 표제작인 <옛우물>을 포함하여 11편의 단편소설이 수록되어 있다. 표제작인 <옛우물>은 한 가정의 아내이자 어머니인 여성이 일상 속에서 자신의 자아를 찾지 못해 괴로워하는 모습을 묘사하고 있다. 사회적으로 규정된 여성이 아닌, 본질적이고 근원적인 여성성을 찾으려는 작업에 몰두하고 있다.

Published in 1994, this short story collection by Oh Jung Hee introduces 11 of her stories. In the title story “Old Well,” the main character is a mother and housewife who agonizes over the loss of her identity. In these stories, Oh searches for the true essence or meaning of femininity away from its social definitions and stereotyping.
