During the Korean War, when the Black Army conquer the Samseong-ri area, Baek Dong-jun, a member of the Blue Troupe, is pointed out as a left-wing instigator. Hyeon-u, who has been resenting Dong-jun's “luck” since childhood, becomes a member of the Black Army and takes revenge on Dong-jun. Hyeon-u directly instructs Dong-jun to name other impure elements in the village. Because of this, Dong-jun is labeled a traitor and is not accepted anywhere. Dong-jun escapes from the village when the Blue Troupe counterattacks, and later returns to Samseong-ri to take revenge on Hyeon-u.
