Plot

Areum was born with an accelerated-aging disorder. Areum’s parents who had him as 17-year-olds do their best to protect and care for their child, who is aging after than they are. Areum's family takes trust and love for each other as the yardstick of life, rather than their aging bodies.

This is a novel by Kim Ae-ran, published in 2011. It tells the story of young parents with a child born with an accelerated-aging disorder. The novel was adapted into a film of the same title in 2014.

2011년 출간된 김애란의 장편소설이다. '조로증'을 가지고 태어난 아이를 키우는 어린 부모의 이야기다. 2014년에 동명의 제목으로 영화로 만들어지기도 했다.
