Plot

Dong-ho and Hyeon-tae, who fought in the Korean War, try in their own ways to escape from the guilt of having killed people. Dong-ho pursues ideals and innocence while Hyeon-tae pursues reality, but eventually one commits suicide and the other falls into despair.

《나무들 비탈에 서다》는 황순원이 쓴 한국의 장편소설이다. 1960년 1월부터 7월까지 《사상계》에 연재되었으며 같은 해 9월에 단행본으로 출간되었다. 1950년대~1960년대 한국의 전후문학을 대표하는 작품 중 하나로, 전쟁이라는 극한적인 상황을 겪은 젊은이들의 방황과 갈등을 다루고 있다.
