Plot

Jeongwon runs a small photoshop in his hometown, and he gets to know Darim, a young parking agent. They develop feelings for each other; however, Jeongwon finds out that he is terminally sick. As he quietly prepares for his death, he worries about Darim, who has to cope with hearing the news of his death.

This novel by Heo Sujeong was published in 1998, and its film adaptation was also released in the same year. The main character finds out about his terminal disease and worries about the woman he has developed feelings for. The novel portrays his coming to terms with his impending death without being overly sentimental.

1998년에 출간된 허수정의 장편소설이다. 같은 해 상영되었던 동명의 영화를 소설로 만든 것이다. 살 날이 얼마남지 않은 남자 주인공은 갑자기 나타난 사랑으로 인해 흔들리지만 조용히 이별을 준비한다. 절제된 감정으로 죽음의 고통을 그리고 있다.
