Kim Yo-sup (1927~1997) was a South Korean children’s writer. He made his literary debut in 1941 by publishing his children’s story “Gogae neomeo seonsaeng”  in The Maeil Sinbo. Often described as Korea’s own Hans Christian Andersen, he published excellent children’s books. After liberation, he defected to South Korea. In 1947 he published a poem “Supureseo” (수풀에서 In the Bush) in the literary coterie magazine Juksun, which heralded the start of his career as a poet. In 1957, he founded the Korean Children’s Writers Association. He received the Socheon Literary Award in 1965 and the Korean Literature Award in 1987. ·          Children’s story collection Naradanineun kokkiri (날아다니는 코끼리 Flying Elephant)(1986)

김요섭(1927~1997)은 한국의 아동문학가다. 1941년 《매일신보》에 동화 <고개 너머 선생>을 발표하며 작품 활동을 시작했다. 한국의 안데르센이라고 불릴 만큼 동화창작에 뛰어난 것으로 평가를 받았다. 해방 후 월남하였고 1947년 시 <수풀에서> 동인지 《죽순(竹筍)》에 발표하여 시인으로서 활동을 하기도 했다. 1957년 한국동화작가협회를 발족하였으며 1965년 소천(小泉)문학상, 1987년 대한민국국문학상 등을 받았다.
