Jang Hyeokju (1905-1988) was a South Korean novelist who debuted in Japan in 1932 through Gaejo with the Japanese-language short story “Agwido” (아귀도 World of Hungering Demons). Jang also published Korean-language stories such as Mujigae (무지개 Rainbow) and “Yeonpung” (연풍 Nostalgic Wind), as well as plays and essays. Jang’s stories took a realistic stance, depicting the cruel realities of colonized life, the implications of social class on farmers and laborers, and popular fiction that painted snapshots of people’s lives.

장혁주(1905~1988)는 한국의 소설가다. 1932년 《개조》에 일본어 소설 <아귀도>를 발표하며 일본 문단 활동을 시작하였다. 한국에서도 《무지개》, <연풍> 등의 소설과 더불어 희곡, 논문 등을 발표하였다. 작가는 사실주의적인 묘사 방법으로 식민지의 참혹한 현실과 농민들과 노동자들의 계급인식 그리고 사람들의 애욕을 다룬 전형적인 통속소설 등 다양한 주제의 작품을 발표했다.


张赫宙(1905-1988)，韩国小说家。1932年在《改造》杂志发表日语小说《饿鬼道》（《아귀도》），从此开始在日本文坛展开了创作活动。作家在韩国撰写过《彩虹》（《무지개》）、《恋风》（《연풍》）等小说及戏剧、论文作品。他的小说具有传统通俗小说的特点，以写实主义方式描绘了殖民地的悲惨现实、农民和劳动者的阶级意识以及人类的情欲，主题十分广泛。
