同郷の友であり同志であった寛洙が牡丹江で病死したことで、吉祥は自分の生き方を見つめ直す。
主治医だった朴医師の死に衝撃を受けた西姫は、心の奥底に秘めていた思いに気づく。二人は互いの存在が束縛であったことを初めて認め合う。寛洙の死は家族を再会させ、新たな絆をもたらした。
