This volume showcases Kim Won Il’s Madang gipeun jip (마당 깊은 집 The House with a Sunken Courtyard) and Yi Mun-yol’s Jeolmeun narui chosang (젊은 날의 초상 Portrait of the youthful days). It also includes Kim Jooyoun’s explanatory notes on Kim Won Il’s novel, titled “Moja gwangyeui sooewa donghwaui gujo” (모자 관계의 소외와 동화의 구조 The exclusion in the mother-son relationship and the structure of fairy tales) and Kwon Yeongmin’s explanatory notes on Yi Mun-yol’s novel, titled “Tamsaegui gwajeong, geu soseoljeok mihak” (탐색의 과정, 그 소설적 미학 The process of exploration and it is novelistic aesthetics).
