This is an introductory booklet on Yi Mun-yol, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. The author participated in the main program in October and literary events in March. This 21-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of Our Twisted Hero’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Jin Hyoung-jun and Park Seong-chang, and translated by Park Jang-hyeon. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Yi Mun-yol participated in literary events in Leipzig and Dresden (March), and at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion, Frankfurt House of Literature, Frankfurt International School, Bad Berleburg, and Nuremberg (October). The German translation of Our Twisted Hero was published in 1999.

This is an introductory booklet on novelist Yi Mun-yol, produced for literary events at the Guadalajara International Book Fair and a nearby university Guadalajara International Book Fair. Between November 30 and December 4, Yi Mun-yol participated in literary events at the Guadalajara International Book Fair and the University of Guadalajara—where he introduced his work The Golden Phoenix. The events were organized directly by Bonobos, the publisher of the Spanish translation of The Golden Phoenix. From March to December, 2013, students at University of Guadalajara were invited to participate in a Korean literature essay contest, and Yi Mun-yol attended the award ceremony on December 2. In addition, he participated in the program “The Modern Development of East Asian Writing with Focus on Korean Literature”. Yi was interviewed by three journalists: Erick Ampersand, Marcel Ventura, and Marcos Dniel. This 43-page booklet consists of: “About the Author’s Literary World”, “About the Work”, “Excerpt”, “Essay”, “Biography” and “Bibliography”.

This is an introductory booklet on novelist Yi Mun-yol, produced for the 2014 London Book Fair Korea Market Focus. On April 9, Yi Mun-yol participate in the literary event “Korean Literature: Past and Present” at the British Library. On April 9, in Whitehall Room, he discussed how myth, allegory and fable illustrated and transformed literary imagination, history and society. On April 10, in PEN Salon (Earls Court Exhibition Centre), he talked about his literature with a focus on his works The Son of Man and Our Twisted Hero. This 20-page booklet consists of: “About the Author”, “About the Work” and “Excerpts”.

This is an introductory material on writer Yi Mun-yol for the 2009 Literary Event Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties between Korea and Sweden. Poet Chun Yang Hee participated in the Korean literature reading events held in Stockholm and Gothenburg from September 18 to 25. The 17-page information booklet consists of two sections: “Interview with the Writer” and “Excerpts.” It includes an excerpt of Yi’s novel Siin (시인, Poeten).

This is an introductory material on writer Yi Mun-yol for the 2007 Korea-Turkey Literary Exchange. From October 26 to November 4, Yi participated in the events to display and promote works of Korean literature at the Istanbul Book Fair. He held a book signing on October 27, which received a lot of attention from Turkish readers and media. In addition, he held a reading of his novel Our Twisted Hero at the Istanbul Book Fair on October 28 and also at Erciyes University on October 30. The 28-page information booklet consists of four sections: “About the Writer,” “About the Works,” “Words from the Writer,” and “Writer’s Life.”

The theme of _List Vol. 24 is “Transnationalism in Korean Literature.” Starting with this issue, _List has been revamped to include more works of Korean literature and current issues through a section on Featured Writers, relevant events, book reviews, and excerpts. This issue includes an interview with the Featured Writer Bok Geo-il, an essay on his world of works, as well as his works that have been published in Korea and abroad. In addition, it introduces LTI Korea’s projects, such as the 2014 London Book Fair, the 2014 Seoul International Writers’ Festival, and the Korean Literature Essay Contest, and analyzes the trend in the publishing industry. It also features reviews of nine translated works of Korean literature, translated excerpts from nine Korean fiction, and translations of three poems in English.
