This collection of essays from the 2006 Seoul Young Writers’ Festival contains messages from the President of LTI Korea and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and essays by 36 writers. The festival took place on May 7~13, 2006 in Seoul, Youngju and Andong.

The theme of _List Vol. 13 is “Risk Society and the Artistic Imagination.” This issue introduces six books and three films under the four subthemes—overview, intellectual response to risk (sociology), literary imagination about risk (literature), and risk and popular culture (films). In addition, this issue features interviews with novelists Kim Joo-young and Song Sokze, Korean publishing trends, coverage of the acceptance of Korean literature overseas, author’s notes by novelist Jung Young Moon, a spotlight on a literary site, book reviews of fiction/nonfiction/children’s literature, and an excerpt from Kim Won Il’s The House with the Sunken Courtyard and introduces steady sellers, publishers, and trends in Korean literature to overseas readers.

In addition, this issue features interviews with novelists Yi Mun-yol and Kim Insuk, Korean publishing trends, coverage of the acceptance of Korean literature overseas, a spotlight on a literary site, book reviews of fiction/nonfiction/children’s literature, and the translation of Jung Young Moon’s short story “Together with a Chicken” and introduces steady sellers, publishers, and trends in Korean literature to overseas readers.
