Deukchun and his wife, who lived in fishing village D, leave for village C to escape the villagers who have persecuted them since Deukchun’s mother passed away. Deukchun's cousin is managing the land in village C. Deukchun farm the land and makes a honest living, as he keeps away from the villagers, but when he hears the news that his cousin had quit managing the land, he leaves village C. By train station T, Deukchun opens an inn. However, a rich man from the area harasses Deukchun's wife and gives her money. Deukchun vows to repay evil with evil in the world.
