Plot

After converting to Christianity, Junior Officer Jeon does good deeds and makes a lot of donations to the church. His father, who had rejected Christianity, also accepts Junior Officer Jeon’s prayer in his deathbed. When Junior Officer Jeon’s mother becomes senile and causes trouble for the people around her, Junior Officer Jeon kills his mother “for her own sake.” When he is tried for murder, he claims that his act of killing was not a sin under God’s law and is sentenced to death. However, when Junior Officer Jeon dies, God also decides to send him to hell.

Descriptions(Languages 2)

This story criticizes and ridicules one’s distorted beliefs. The effect is further maximized by the narrator's point of view and the use of honorific language.
