Plot

The narrator feels sad about the changing city while staying at a hotel on Kitai Tverskaya in Harbin. The narrator doesn’t work and instead spends time walking with Eura who works at a cabaret called Fantasia. The two believe that the reality is harsh and that the only way to get out of this harsh reality is through death.

A short story published by Yi Hyoseok in the magazine Munjang in October 1940, it shows the tragedy of a world without a prospect through a person who thinks about melancholy and death for no particular reason in Harbin, Manchuria.

이효석이 1940년 10월, 잡지<문장>에 발표한 단편으로, 만주의 하얼빈에서 특별한 일 없이 우울과 죽음을 생각하는 인물을 통해 전망없는 세계의 비극을 보여주고 있다.
