This is an introductory booklet on Park Wansuh, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. The author was unable to attend the events due to personal reasons 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair. As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, she was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of her major works and translated titles. This 29-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of Mother’s Stake’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by literary scholar Kim Seung-min, and translated by Sonja Häussler. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Her work is included in the collection of Korean short stories published by Suhrkamp in 2005.

This 33-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of Dear Distant Love’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Hwang Jung-san, and translated by Kim In-gyeom. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. So Young-en’s literary event was held in Cologne in April. Her work ‘Dear Distant Love’ is included in Koreanische Erzaehlungen (1977) published by Pendragon.

The material was put together and analyzed by Cha Mi-ryeong, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. OH JUNGHEE participated in literary events in Munich and Wien (June), Frankfurt House of Literature, Bad Berleburg, and Bad Homburg (October). As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, she was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of her major works and translated titles.

This is an introductory material on writer Oh Junghee for the 2007 Korea-Vietnam Literary Exchange. On December 4 and 5, Oh read an excerpt from her short story collection Chinatown at the reading events held at Hanoi University of Foreign Studies. She also participated in a conversation between female writers along with the Vietnamese writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu on December 6, and gave a lecture at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on December 7.

The theme of _List Vol. 5 is “Self-Help Bestsellers.” It introduces 24 best-selling books that provide practical help on life and love for men, women, readers in their 20s and 30s, and children. In addition, this issue features interviews with Kim Haenam and novelist Park Wansuh, Korean publishing trends, coverage of the acceptance of Korean literature overseas, author’s notes by novelist Kim Yeonsu, a spotlight on a literary site, and book reviews of fiction/nonfiction/children’s literature and introduces steady sellers, publishers, and trends in Korean literature to overseas readers.
