Plot

For over a decade, Jeon Dae-gwang has worked in China as an employee of a general trading company. He builds up his performance by maintaining a good relationship with the Chinese custom official, Shang Xinwon. Deeply involved in various forms of economic activity taking place between the two countries, he brings Korean plastic surgeons over to China and assists Korean steel companies. China’s culture and economy are given broad treatment in this novel, which touches on diverse topics such as guanxi, the immensity of the Chinese market, and the country’s public security issues.
