Plot

During the Korean War, one deserter from the North Korean army finds his way into a village of widows. The deserter feels betrayed by the communists and stays in hiding with the help of one of the village widows. However, another widow finds out about him and wants to share him and his affection.

1963년 5월 <현대문학>에 발표한 차범석의 희곡이다. 1962년 국립극단에서 공연된 장막극이다. 작품은 한국전쟁이 남긴 상처를 수난의 민족사적인 입장에서 사실적으로 그리고 있다. 작가는 좌우의 이데올로기로 인해 고통받은 민중들의 고통스러운 삶을 다루고 있다.

This play by Cha Bumseok was staged for the first time by the National Theater Company in 1962 and was published in Modern Literature in May 1963. The play is a realistic depiction of the war as well as the suffering of the people and the nation divided by ideology.
