2013년에 출간된 김연수의 소설집이다. 작가는 소설집에 수록된 11편의 작품에서 작가의 개입없이 작중화자들이 직접 자신들의 이야기를 하도록 설정했다. 엄마, 이모, 누나 등은 그 누구의 목소리도 빌리지 않고 직접 각자의 이야기를 한다. 작중인물들의 직접 발화는 잔인하고 혹독한 현실에서 자신의 이야기에 몰두하는 것만으로 세계가 아름다워질 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

Published in 2013, this collection by Kim Yeonsu includes 11 of his short stories. The characters —a mother, an aunt, and a sister—tell stories which show that even in the face of cruelty and depravity, one can see beauty in the world just by immersing oneself in a story.
