Plot

The narrator comes home to celebrate his mother's birthday, held earlier than originally planned due to her illness. At home, he sees his younger sister who has recently given birth to her first child, and his older sister who went through a divorced this year. The next morning, the narrator and his younger sister will be heading back to their respective homes. The narrator hears from his older sister that their mother had suffered from lung disease, and then the night falls. At dawn the narrator hears from his father about the death of his mother.
