Byun Huigeun (1924-1989) was a North Korean novelist who debuted in 1946 with the short story “Georuk” (거룩 Holy) and the lyric poem “I bami saegi jeone” (이 밤이 새기 전에 Before This Night Ends) in 1946. Byeon was known for using simple, common words to depict realistic human relationships.

변희근(1924~1989)는 북한의 소설가다. 1946년 단편소설 《거룩》과 서정시〈이 밤이 새기 전에〉를 발표하며 본격적인 창작 활동을 시작하였다. 

소박하면서 평이한 언어 묘사를 통해 인간 관계를 드러낸다는 평가를 받는다. 1989년 김일성상을 받았다. 


边熙根(1924-1989)，北朝鲜小说家。1946年发表了短篇小说《圣洁》（《거룩》）和抒情诗《今夜破晓前》（《이 밤이 새기 전에》），正式开始创作活动。其作品以平易近人的朴实笔触描绘了人与人之间的关系。1989年获金日成奖。
