《隧道》一书讲述了韩国普通工薪族李正洙驾车途中被困豆腐渣工程的隧道后的遭遇。救援工作进展缓慢，李正洙的妻子追问隧道施工单位，查出他们的行贿记录，事态越来越严重，政府和施工单位却互相推诿。李正洙在隧道里焦急地等待救援，只能通过收音机得到家人的鼓励，但救援工作却迟迟没有进展...... 由于隧道停用时间过长，周围村庄外出只能绕道。此时，又发生了一件救护车因为绕道而导致两位病人没有得到及时医治死亡的事件。周围居民情绪激动，开始谴责李正洙，并威胁其妻。李正洙妻子通过收音机说出了："你别活了"......
