Jaesik Kwak’s writing career took off in 2006 following the TV adaption of his short story “Aria of Rabbit.” He has published a wide range of books including the sci-fi short story collections The Greatest Bet on Earth and The Final Last of the Ultimate End; the historical novels Princess of Shilla and Pirates, and Mosalgi; and the science books A Guide to Monster Science and Jaesik Kwak’s Germ Fair. He has a doctoral degree in engineering, and regularly appears on radio and TV to share stories about horror and monsters

2006년 단편소설 「토끼의 아리아」가 MBC TV 베스트극장에서 영상화 되면서 본격적으로 작가 활동을 시작했다. 『지상 최대의 내기』, 『최후의 마지막 결말의 끝』과 같은 SF 단편집에서부터 『신라 공주 해적전』, 『모살기』 같은 역사소설 등 다양한 소설들을 출간했으며, 『괴물 과학 안내서』, 『곽재식의 세균박람회』 등 과학 관련 서적 또한 활발히 집필하고 있다. 공학박사이며, 라디오, TV등 다양한 매체에서 괴물, 공포 등에 대한 이야기를 다루며 활발히 활동하고 있다.
