This anthology is a reissue of Kyōfu no kisetsu - Ariran (Gendai Kankoku shōsetsu-sen (恐怖の季節・アリラン(現代韓国小説選) Season of Terror - Arirang (Selection of Modern Korean Fiction)), which was published in 1978. It was renamed Hyeondae hanguk soseolseon (現代韓国小説選 Ⅱ) and reissued in 1982. The anthology includes four works of Korean fiction published in the 1960s and 1970s, including Yoon Jungkyu’s Gongpoui gyejeol (공포의 계절 Season of Terror). The translator is Yi Seung-ok, who served on the editorial board of Korean magazines such as Gyegan madang (계간 마당 Madang Quarterly) or Mindo (민도 The People’s Way).
