2005 Frankfurt Book Fair Seo Jeong-in Introductory BookletGerman(Deutsch)

This is an introductory booklet on Seo Jeong-in, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. Seo Jeong-in participated literary events in May and in the main program in October. This 25-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of The Person I Met in Venice’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Park Jeong-joon, and translated by Kim In-gyeom. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Seo Jeong-in participated in literary events in Hamburg (May), and at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion and Leipzig House of the Book (October). As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, he was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of his major works and translated titles. His work ‘Homecoming’ is included in the collection of Korean short stories published by dtv (2005).

Some of his short stories including ‘The Last 4.5 Seconds of My Life’ were published in German in 2009.

The material was put together and analyzed by Cha Mi-ryeong, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. OH JUNGHEE participated in literary events in Munich and Wien (June), Frankfurt House of Literature, Bad Berleburg, and Bad Homburg (October). As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, she was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of her major works and translated titles.

This is an introductory booklet on author Song Sokze, produced for the 2016 Frankfurt Book Fair. On Oct 21 in Weltempfang Hall, Song Sokze and German author Juan Guse shared a conversation on the theme of “Life Is Ridiculous” and discussed their writings and perspectives with regards to Song’s novel The Amusing Life. On Oct 24, Song participated in a literary event at Literaturwerkstatt in Berlin, where he gave a reading and engaged in a discussion. This 6-page booklet consists of: “To the Author”, “A Riverside Village”, and “Reading Samples”. The excerpt is taken from The Amusing Life.

This is an introductory material on writer Oh Junghee for the 2007 Korea-Vietnam Literary Exchange. On December 4 and 5, Oh read an excerpt from her short story collection Chinatown at the reading events held at Hanoi University of Foreign Studies. She also participated in a conversation between female writers along with the Vietnamese writer Nguyen Ngoc Tu on December 6, and gave a lecture at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on December 7.

This 29-pagebooklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of The Square’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by literary scholar Seo Hyung-beom, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu. The photographs were provided by Moonji Publishing. The German translation of The Square was published in 2002.
