2005 Frankfurt Book Fair: Author Ko Un Introductory BookletGerman(Deutsch)

This is an introductory booklet on Ko Un, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. Ko Un participated in the main program in October and special events in March, September and October. This 21-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Poetry Excerpts’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by the literary critic Yoo Sung-ho, and translated by Han Jung-hwa. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. The booklet contain eight poems including “Time with Dead Poets” translated into German. Ko Un participated in literary events in Yena, Leipzig (March), Düsseldorf (September), Berlin (October), and then at Frankfurt House of Literature, Museum Angewandte Kunst and Cologne House of Literature as part of the main program in October. As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, he was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of his major works and translated titles. Several of his works have been published in German including: Stars of Homeland (1996), the Zen poetry collection What Is It? (2005), Waking Up (2007) and Flower of the Moment (2011).

This is an introductory booklet on Choi In-hun, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. As one of the 12 Masters of Korean Literature, he was introduced at the Frankfurt Book Fair Korean Pavilion—with a large photograph and a list of his major works and translated titles. This 29-pagebooklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of The Square’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by literary scholar Seo Hyung-beom, and translated by Kang Yeo-Kyu. The photographs were provided by Moonji Publishing. The German translation of The Square was published in 2002.

This is the audio file of the fifth session of “One on One,” the main event of the Seoul International Writers’ Festival 2019. Participating Korean and foreign writers held a discussion under the theme of “Poetry and Life".

These are introductory materials for poet Moon Chung-hee and novelist Gong Ji-young, produced for a special literary conference held at the Korean Cultural Center Spain on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Night of Books" Festival in Spain, to which the two Korean female writers were invited. In the two-part conference held on April 22, poet Moon Jung-hee's work, Naneun munida (나는 문이다 I am Moon), was introduced and a discussion was held on the subject of “Women, Life, and Love.” The event was recorded and aired on the Spanish radio program titled “Planeta de los libros,” along with an interview with the author. On April 23, a discussion and reading session of Korean-Spanish female writers were held at Espacio B (Cultural Space) with five writers from both countries. The introductory material for poet Moon Jung-hee includes: 1. Author bio; 2. Introduction of her poetry collection Naneun munida (나는 문이다 I am Moon); 3. an essay by the author (“Women, Life, and Love”); and 4. 12 poems selected from her poetry collection Naneun munida (I am Moon).
