Ett av de mest framträdande dragen i Yang-shik Kims diktning är kärleken till naturen. Moln, himmel, fåglar, träd, dagg, blommor, gräs etc spelar en mycket viktig roll i hennes poesi. Naturen är tveklöst hennes främsta inspirationskälla. En annan är konsten. De dikter hon hämtat inspiration till ifrån Marc Chagalls målningar hör till hennes mest lysande.
