This is an introductory booklet on Jo Kyung Ran, produced for the 2005 Frankfurt Book Fair, where Korea participated as the Guest of Honor for the first time and hosted the Korean Literature Tour Program. The author was one of the 62 delegates selected by LTI Korea’s Delegation Selection Committee on the basis of the following criteria: representativeness, existing publications of translated works, and overseas marketability. The entire literature program was co-organized by the LTI Korea, the Frankfurt Book Fair Organizing Committee, Daesan Cultural Foundation, Paradise Cultural Foundation and the International Communication Foundation (ICF). The events started at the Leipzig Book Fair in March and finished with the Guest of Honor Program in October. The author participated in the main program in October and literary events in April. This 17-page booklet consists of: ‘Author’s Literary World’, ‘Analysis of Looking for the Elephant’, ‘Excerpt’, ‘Voices of the Author and Critics’, ‘Biography’ and ‘Bibliography’. The material was put together and analyzed by Kim Tae-hwan, and translated by Chu Geum-hwan. The photographs were taken by Han Young-hee. Jo Kyung Ran participated in literary events in Cologne in April, and at the Frankfurt Künstlerhaus Mousonturm and the Cologne House of Literature in October. Her work ‘Looking for the Elephant’ is included in the collection of Korean short stories published by Pendragon in 2002.

Her work ‘Flowers of Mold’ is included in A Story about an Ordinary Polka-dot Dress: Short Fiction by Korean Women Writers published in German in 2004

This is an introductory booklet on novelist Kim Insuk, produced for literary events at the Guadalajara International Book Fair and a nearby university. Between November 25 and December 2, Kim Insuk participated in literary events at the Guadalajara International Book Fair and University of Guadalajara, where she gave a presentation titled “Together with Cats…”, engaged in discussion with literary researchers and answered questions from readers. In addition, she visited Instituto Alberici where she gave a joint reading with students and discussed her writing. She was interviewed by the local media outlets Milenio and Mural about her work That Woman’s Autobiography. This 43-page booklet consists of: “Greetings”, “Author’s Literary World”, “Excerpt”, “Essay”, “Voices of the Author and Critics”, “Biography” and “Bibliography”.

This is an introductory booklet on novelist Kim Insuk, produced for the 2014 London Book Fair Korea Market Focus. Kim Insuk participated in the literary seminar “Writing Home: Migrant Literature” (April 9, Whitehall Room), where she discussed how national and personal identity endured in foreign and faraway lands, and explored Korea’s relationship with the rest of the world through literary portrayals of Korean emigrants. In addition, she read from and discussed her novel The Long Road at Edinburgh Central Library on April 10. This 20-page booklet consists of: “About the Author”, “About the Work” and “Excerpts”. The excerpts are taken from Sohyeon and The Long Road.

2018 Korean Literature Event in Brazil: Author Gong Ji-Young Introductory BookletPortuguese(Português)

This is an introductory material on the novelist Gong Ji-young, produced for the opening ceremony of the 2018 Korean Literature Essay Contest in Brazil and literary events. Gong Ji-young participated in the event when the essay on her book Our Happy Time (Nossas horas felizes) was selected as the winner of the grand prize at the Korean Literature Essay Contest organized by Brazil’s National Writers’ Association. On August 23, Gong attended the opening ceremony for the events held in the building of the National Writers’ Association had a discussion with Paulo José Cunha, a poet and professor of communications at the University of Brasilia. On August 27, she gave a special lecture in Rio de Janeiro at the invitation of the Brazilian Centre of PEN International. The introductory material on the author consists of: 1.
