Plot

Right after the war, Wongu, who lives in Busan, happens to meet his close friend Donguk. Wongu is introduced to Dongok, Donguk’s sister, with whom he eventually falls in love. Unable to adjust to the reality of their situation, however, Donguk leads an aimless life; likewise, Dongok is also depressed. One day, Donguk is conscripted and Dongok disappears without notice, leaving Wongu by himself, unable to conceal his loneliness.

1953년 11월 잡지<문예>에 발표한 손창섭의 단편소설이다. 작품은 한국전쟁 직후의 부산을 배경으로 주인공 남매의 불행을 그렸다.

This short story by Son Chang-sop was published in the magazine Munye in November 1953. Set in Busan right after the Korean War, the story depicts the misfortunes of three young people.
