2012년에 출간된 손홍규 소설집<톰은 톰과 잤다>에 수록된 단편소설이다. 가난하고 외로운 도시의 주변인으로서의 슬픔과 비루함을 작가 특유의 명쾌한 문장으로 그렸다. 도시의 주변부에서 떠도는 삶을 살면서도 그들은 서로에 대한 지지를 중단하지 않는다.

This short story by Son Hong-gyu was published in 2012 in the author’s short story collection Tom Slept with Tom. With the author’s distinctive clarity of prose, the story depicts the sadness of being a lonely outsider in the poor outskirts of a city. Despite their similarities, the characters do not form a community, but rather live as isolated individuals, each leading a peripatetic life on the city’s periphery.
