1956년에 출간된 구상 시인의 두 번째 시집이다. 시집은 총 15편의 연작시로 구성되어 있으며, 한국전쟁으로 인한 비극적인 현실이 형상화되어 있다. 그러나 기독교적 신앙을 바탕으로 전쟁의 비참함을 극복하고자 하는 의지가 드러난다는 평가를 받는다.

Published in 1956, this is Ku Sang’s second collection of poems. It is a cycle of fifteen poems that give voice to the tragic reality of the Korean War. It also expresses the will to overcome the wretchedness of war.
