1989년에 발표된 기형도 시인의 시이다. 같은 해에 출간된 <입 속의 검은 잎>의 표제시이기도 하다. 시는 1980년대 중후반의 정치세력과 저항세력의 구도를 드러내고 있으며, 현실에 대한 방관자인 스스로에 대한 두려움을 형상화하고 있다. 폭력적인 현실과 죽음에 대한 공포를 드러낸다.

Published in 1989, this collection of Ki Hyongdo’s poems expresses the power dynamic between the oppressors and the people who fought against oppression in the late 1980s. The poet also expresses his fear of being a mere bystander in this struggle, as well as his terror at violent reality and death.
