2009년에 출간된 김경욱의 소설집이다. 표제작을 비롯하여 <고독을 빌려드립니다>, <맥도날드 사수 대작전>, <황홀한 사춘기>등 모두 8편의 단편이 수록되어 있다. 작가는 '무엇이든 빌려주는'사이트와 '독서치료사', '제3세계해방전선', '자궁을 판매하기로 한 아내'등을 소설의 한 축으로 사용하여 아이러니로 가득찬 일상을 그려낸다. 특히 작가는 설득력있는 구성과 시간성에 대한 날카로운 통찰 등으로 생활고에 지치거나 일상의 의미를 잃어버려 삶의 의미를 잃은 사람들의 이야기를 들려준다.

Published in 2009, this short story collection by Kim Kyung-uk introduces eight of his stories including “Solitude for Rent,” “The Mission to Protect McDonald,” and “Bewitching Adolescence.” In his stories, the writer engages such ideas as a website where anything can be rented out, a book therapist, the third world liberation frontier, or a woman with her uterus on sale. With irony, persuasive narrative structures, and insightful observations, Kim’s stories are about people who have lost meaning in life as they struggle to make ends meet day in and day out.
