Plot

Gangsters from a city come to a riverside village by chance. When they see Saemi in the village, they fall in love and follow her, but one of the gangsters is injured in the process. This triggers a fight between the city gangsters and the people of the riverside village. In this unexpected situation, the people of the riverside village leave their differences behind and unite to fight the gangsters. Afterward, the villagers discover new possibilities for what they were able to do together.

This is a novel by Song Sokze, published in 2012. It unravels the happenings in a rural village with wit, humor, and satire. In particular, the key part of the novel is the part where the villagers resist the corrupted, immoral powers and dream of a new community.

2012년에 출간된 성석제의 장편소설이다. 작품은 시골마을에서 벌어지는 일들을 재담과 익살, 풍자와 해학으로 풀어내고있다. 특히 마을사람들이 도덕적 문제가 있는 세력과 부정한 권력에 저항하면서 새로운 공동체에 대한 꿈을 드러내고 있는 부분은 소설의 핵심적인 부분으로 여겨진다.
